Few days ago I watch one episode of Desperate Housewives, titled “The Best Thing That Ever Could Have Happened”  this episode is tell about Eli Scruggs, the handyman who work  at Wisteria Lane. Eli Scruggs, is the handyman who can work everything and gives help to others. He plan to retire after he finished to fix Susan Meyer’ house. Eli drop his retire announcement letter to the neighborhood of Wisteria Lane. He planned to got to Waikiki because his doctor tell him that was a problem with his heart, but in the middle of his job of fixing Susan Mayer’s roof, he’s got a heart attack and died. The story continue with the flashback of Desperate Housewives characters, the first is  Gabrielle Solis, she remember when Eli Scruggs introduce her to their current friends, Susan Mayer, Bree Van De Kamp, Lynette Scavo, and Mary Alice Young, they meet regularly to play poker. Gaby, who was an international model try to give good impression to them by dressed like a model and act like a high-class person. The other day, Eli talk to Gaby about her attitude, Gaby realized that everything is not like what she imagine, then he came to poker meeting, bring a basket of muffin and apologize about her attitude the day before. Their friends welcoming her warmly and asked her to join them.  Bree remember when she and his late husband Rex Van de Kamp are in the middle of BBQ with Tom and Lynette Scavo, Bree want a new stove and Rex said better she get a job if she want a new stove, it gives Bree an idea to be a writer, the day after, Bree doesn’t cooking a new dish when Rex asked for a meal, she was doing a book writing, Rex told that she doesn’t have to do that, if she wants a new stove, he would buy a new stove, then Bree throw away all the recipe that she already wrote into the trash can. Eli, who was fixing something at Bree’s house take away all of the paper and keep it, the following memory is after Rex funeral, Eli came to her and give her all of recipes that she ever throw away, and now Bree publishing her own book. The next is Lynette Scavo, at the time she have to give birth to her fourth child, Penny, formerly, Lynette was a carrier woman and wants her carrier back after she give birth to her children. Accidentally, she leaves Penny to the car on 85 degree, Eli saw it and bring Penny back to Lynette.  Eddie Britt, is also the one who remembering Eli, when his ex-husband fighting, Eli give compliment to her, and when she divorced with her husband, the handyman said how beautiful she is, and end up with Eddie sleeping with the handyman. Susan Mayer is the last person who Eli works to, he died when fixing Susan’s house. Susan remember when her first husband Carl left him with another woman, she throw away all Carl’s stuff when Eli is working at her house, she asked Eli to change all the key on her house, and Eli was there when Susan and Mike want to divorce. Eli said that she must keep trying in love, and at the last when relationship between Susan and Jackson is end, and Eli said that he’s going to retired, Susan promise to Eli that she will get a wine and will talk together celebrate his retirement.

But, the one who makes a big impact to Eli is Mary Alice Young, who died earlier. When Eli come to Fairview, she meet Mary Alice, and give his name card to her.  Mary Alice saw a hole in Eli shoes, and she tell Eli that she has broken vase and she wants him to fix. The day when Mary Alice commit suicide, Eli come to her house, Mary Alice gives the vase that Eli ever fixed, and on Mary Alice funeral, Eli bow his hand and commit to God that he will help those need.

This episode is really really touched me, the kindness of Eli, and he always there when people need, he’s only do the simple thing, but it gives big impact to the person he help. Best Episode !!!
