If you like to wear branded stuffs but you cannot afford it and you don’t mind to use the fake one, you can get it in Jakarta. Here you can get at very cheap price. What do you want ? bag, belt, wallet, t-shirt, etc. So, if you’re interested and want to continue reading, I think the next question is where ? where you can get it? I’ll tell you some places in Jakarta, that you might interested.

Asemka / Petak Sembilan, it’s near the TransJakarta (busway) Terminal Kota. You can go there by Trans Jakarta (busway). At the end of Terminal Kota you can walk, and see the direction to Asemka. Well, honestly this is NOT a tourist destination This place is very crowded, dirty, and definitely you’ll be tired. Usually people go here if they want to be a reseller. You can find almost everything at very cheap price. For girls/women : a huge market of accessories, earrings, necklaces, rings, brooch, etc, also stationary : books, pencils, etc. If you like perfume, you can get branded perfume at very cheap price, it’s fake, and the smell isn’t long lasting. Well, mention it what brand you want ? Paris Hilton, Kenzo, Daff, Davidoff, Issey Miyake, Calvin Klein, Anna Sui, Jennifer Lopez ? you can get it all!! at the other places you also can bought it at the price of Rp. 50.000,- (+/- USD $5) but here in Asemka you can get below Rp. 50.000,- I got Issey Miyake only for Rp. 17.000,- (+/- USD $1.7) and the others not more than Rp. 25.000,- (+/- USD $2.5).  Other stuff that you might interested is Watch, it’s very cheap there at Asemka, also baby stuffs, toys, sports equipments, etc. But, I tell you this place is uncomfortable place to shop. But, if you really want to go there ask local people to accompany you! Be careful also.

Pasar Pagi Mangga Dua and ITC Mangga Dua

Not as cheap as Asemka, but it’s more comfortable. Not to far from Asemka. Here you can find branded bags (fake) like Louis Vuitton, Hermes, Bottega, Bally, etc in many different quality. It’s good place to shop. But you have to bargain, don’t be afraid to bargain !!!  People said that the price on Weekend and Holiday is higher than on the weekdays.  Near Pasar Pagi Mangga Dua there’s ITC Mangga Dua, it’s better than Pasar Pagi, but still you must bargain.

HARCO MANGGA DUA

From Pasar pagi and ITC you can go to HARCO where you can found Electronics such as Computer, Notebook, DVD player, Cameras, etc. My friend usually bought electronics here and he sell it again at outside Java. There’s some good camera stores here. Maybe this place is like a SimLim – Singapore.

GLODOK

Another place to buy electronics is GLODOK, it’s more vary than Harco, I think. Usually I went here if I want to buy DVD, not DVD player, but DVD movie. This is huge market-place of DVD. I mean here is Pirate DVD and CD also. Yeah, you also can found at Mangga Dua.Here, you also can go to China Town.  Buy Chinese snacks, Chinese foods, Chinese medicine and Chinese Herbals.

Well, there’s some places in Jakarta, actually this is for low budget travellers who want to shop. But, be careful, almost all stuffs in the places that I mentioned above is fake, except electronics like camera, notebook or handphone.
